Society of the Golden Slippers is dedicated to the discovery and celebration of musical talent.
Founded in April 2010 by Jen Roberts, the Society hosts intimate events for industry insiders and music lovers. Our partner venues include The Groucho Club, Soho House, Blacks Club and the Royal Albert Hall.
Named after the cockney rhyming slang for ‘tippers’ – a word used in the music industry to represent ‘about to break’ artists – as well as the ‘hit’ music hall classic ‘oh dem golden slippers’, Golden Slippers hosts emerging talent and big stars in cosy, candlelit and comfortable settings.
The specially invited audience regularly includes music industry leaders, critics, tastemakers and bloggers. All events are strictly by guest list only.
Guests can enjoy a showcase of major talents (‘tippers’) that in the past has included The Civil Wars, John Grant, Laura Mvula, Sam Smith, Lisa Marie Presley, Birdy, Michael Kiwanuka, Ed Harcourt, KT Tunstall, Lucy Rose, Rae Morris, Dry the River, Ghostpoet, Kristina Train and many more (view full alumni here).
The Society has also previously hosted private showcases for Columbia, RCA and Secretly Canadian as well as exclusive salons at Morton’s Club in Mayfair, Century Club, Hospital Club and the Club at The Ivy.
New members are welcome to join our community and guest list requests should be emailed to Jen Roberts (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please include a brief introduction in your email.
Because of the limited capacity of the venues, guests are forewarned to arrive early.
